One of my rare Instagram attempts.
If you’ve ever been to a blogging workshop, I’m sure you’ve inevitably heard someone in the crowd ask, “What social media sites should I use?”. The answer seems to always be, “Whichever ones you enjoy using.” If you’re like me, that pretty much means none of them. So, what do you do?
The obvious answer is to ignore the ones you don’t like. However, there seems to be this impression that in order to be a successful blogger you need to be a power user on every popular social media platform. I don’t believe this is true. In fact, I would argue that attempting to be on every platform is stretching yourself too thin. It makes blogging exhausting when you feel the need to maintain active accounts for your blog on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Snapchat, Google+, GoodReads, Pinterest, etc. and you increase your risk of burning out. Still not up to par and my cold/flu just got a little worse. So, I’m going to take a short hiatus while I recover. I’m hoping to be back to my regular posting schedule by next week.
Have a great week everyone.
A very short update to say thank you to Aentee from Read at Midnight for doing such an awesome job designing a header and button for the blog. It’s the first time I’ve ever hired someone to do something like this and Aentee was a pleasure to work with.
I’m very excited to be able to cross a resolution off my list already and that the blog has a little more unique look for 2016.
Happy Monday, everyone!
I have 1 copy of Night Broken (Mercy Thompson #8) by Patricia Briggs to give away. Fill out the Rafflecopter below. (Giveaway is only open to those in the United States.) Winner will be announced on Monday 2/2.
An unexpected phone call heralds a new challenge for Mercy. Her mate Adam’s ex-wife is in trouble, on the run from her new boyfriend. Adam isn’t the kind of man to turn away a person in need—and Mercy knows it. But with Christy holed up in Adam’s house, Mercy can’t shake the feeling that something about the situation isn’t right.
Soon, her suspicions are confirmed when she learns that Christy has the farthest thing from good intentions. She wants Adam back and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen, including turning Adam’s pack against Mercy.
Mercy isn’t about to step down without a fight, but there’s a more dangerous threat circling. Christy’s ex is more than a bad man—in fact, he may not be human at all. As the bodies start piling up, Mercy must put her personal troubles aside to face a creature with the power to tear her whole world apart.
I’m in the middle of moving, so I may have a couple more random book giveaways as I consolidate some of my shelves.

Feature and Follow is hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read. Each week the hosts feature a fellow book blogger and offer a way to find great new blogs while putting your own out there. Come join the fun!
This weeks Question:
Do you post your reviews anywhere besides your blog? Where else do you post reviews? – Suggested by A Great Read.
I also post my reviews on GoodReads.
I was tagged for this by Brin @ Brin’s Book Blog – it was a good excuse to dig out the random gifs I have stashed away on my computer. Thanks, Brin!
How this works:
You’re given a list of 10 books and have to react to them by using gifs. Once complete, you chose a list of 10 books and tag ten people to play along.
I’ve been meaning to start Anna and the French Kiss for quite a while now. Continue reading
