Review: Big Vamp on Campus by Molly Harper

Big Vamp on Campus
Author: Molly Harper
Published: 2016
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Series: Half-Moon Hollow #5.5
Rating: B

Ancient vampire Ophelia is trapped in a waking nightmare. Bad enough that she’s been banished from the council, but her replacement has given her a truly heinous punishment; having to live in a college dorm. Her life has become horrifically filled with communal bathrooms and a goth wannabe roommate. To make matters worse, her longtime boyfriend has taken to campus life like a fish to water and spends most of his time hanging with his bros. Left to her own devices, Ophelia spends her time terrorizing her roommate and trying to figure out how to navigate college life.

For fans of the Half-Moon Hollow series, this is a cute novella. While I was never particularly interested in reading more about Ophelia, she was a fun character to follow around for a little while. This story also does a good job of setting the stage for “The Accidental Sire”, which comes out after “Where the Wild Things Bite”.

If you’re considering picking this up but are a few books behind in the series, you should still be ok. I skipped over the last two books and was still able to follow along here. However, it may spoil a part of “The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire” for you, if you haven’t read it yet.

  1. I confess that I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Ophelia…she’s just so psychotic! Not completely sure what Jamie sees in her so I’m stoked to get a peek inside her crazy mind to find out. I’m eagerly waiting for my library e-book copy of this one to become available 🙂
