“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine. It’s an opportunity to spotlight upcoming releases I’m eagerly anticipating.
Archangel’s Heart
Author: Nalini Singh
Release Date: November 1, 2016
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Series: Guild Hunter #9
I love this series, but I was a little disappointed to hear that “Archangel’s Heart” was going to focus on Elena and Raphael again. However, Singh likes to use books with Elena as the lead to shake up the Guild Hunter world. So, I’m excited to dive into this one.
Back Cover Description:
One of the most vicious archangels in the world has disappeared. No one knows if Lijuan is dead or has chosen to Sleep the long sleep of an immortal. But with her lands falling into chaos under a rising tide of vampiric bloodlust, a mysterious and ancient order of angels known as the Luminata calls the entire Cadre together to discuss the fate of her territory.
Accompanying her archangelic lover Raphael to the Luminata compound, guild hunter-turned-angel Elena senses that all is not as it seems. Secrets echo from within the stone walls of the compound, and the deeper Elena goes, the uglier the darkness. But neither Raphael nor Elena is ready for the brutal truths hidden within—truths that will change everything Elena thinks she knows about who she is…
Nothing will ever be the same again.
I’m not familiar with this series, but it sounds really good. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for sharing!

I still have yet to read any book by Nalini Singh but hopefully one day very soon!

Yes! I hope you like it. Most of her series are pretty heavy on the romance. The first few Guild Hunter books come somewhat close to being Urban Fantasy though.

I think I’m one book behind in this series, better catch up before release day I suppose!

I’m one book behind in this series as well. I skipped over one of the earlier ones, so I need to go back and read it.

I do tend to get more excited when the books follow a new pair rather than Elena at this point. Except I always still end up enjoying it anyway lol But greedy for new characters!

I know! Same here. I keep hoping she’ll give Kai (the healer angel) his own story.

Man, Elena and Raphael must be so tired after all the shenanigans they’ve been thrust into over the years…they need a break! I am a fan of the evening gown + thigh holster combo, though! 😉

I know, right?! Elena and Raphael do need a break. I keep hoping that Singh will give Kai (the healer angel) his own story. I think I’m in the minority with that one though since everyone else wants a Sorrow or Illium story.
