sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post recaps and share what’s up ahead.

Week in Review

Upcoming Blog Posts

I’ve been dealing with some personal things this week, so I’m a little behind on reading blogs and replying to comments. I also used up all my posts that were written ahead of time. So, no review this week and I’m going to make Film Friday tentative. I’m hoping to be back on track next week.

  • Monday: Read it or Ditch it
  • Tuesday: Top Ten Tuesday
  • Wednesday: Monthly Wrap-Up Post
  • Thursday: Break – No Post
  • Friday: Tentative film Friday post
  • Saturday: Stacking the Shelves

  1. I love that dinosaur video- I saw that earlier this week and it cracked me up. Awesome. And Suicide Squad looks fun!

Looking forward to Read It or Ditch It- that’s a fun feature.

Hope you have a great weekend and a good week ahead.

  2. I saw that article on Disney princesses earlier this week too and thought it was interesting, but I was skeptical of their choice to use spoken lines to illustrate their argument. Actions speak louder than words in my world, and for me that goes for the heroines in stories as well. I thought studies like that one willfully or conveniently ignored that. Food for thought though! And I hope the Suicide Squad movie will be good! Whatever you’re dealing with in real life, hang in there! 🙂

    • I agree completely! A film can give a woman a large speaking part but that can not matter. It depends on what she’s saying and whether or not her actions actually impact the outcome of the plot. There are a ton of movies out there where women have large speaking roles but if they were lifted out of the story, it would make very little impact to the outcome of the story.

And thanks for the well wishes! I’m hoping it all will clear up soon on the personal side.
