Genre: Paranormal Romance
Series: Lone Pine Pride #5
Rating: B+

Tangling with the Tiger is the fifth book in Vivi Andrews Lone Pine Pride series.

Lieutenant Grace Calaveras has the misfortune of being assigned to crazy tiger shifter, Dominec Giroux. Dominec is ticking time bomb and it’s her responsibility to make sure no one in their Pride gets caught in the explosion. After being held captive and tortured, Dominec’s only concern is exacting revenge…no matter the cost.

This was the longest book in the Lone Pine Pride series and the best one, so far. The main plot of the series has been done many times in other shifter books. A crazy corporation takes shifters captive to experiment on. Shifters have to collaborate to take down the facilities and save the captives. Despite this, I still really enjoyed Tangling with the Tiger.

Dominec was a nutcase and I liked that Andrews didn’t try to tone him down. He’s conniving and his logic, at times, goes down some twisted paths. It made watching his actions toward Grace interesting since, most of the time, neither of them understood what he was doing.

Grace was also a great character. She was extremely motivated and more concerned with her job than anything else. I liked that she was a female character with a high ranking position in the pack, but who didn’t secretly long for a relationship to feel fulfilled. She was happy with her life the way it was. So, it was interesting watching her try to find her balance again when Dominec and another shifter start messing with her routine.

All in all, this is turning out to be a great series and I can’t wait to see where Andrews goes with it next.
